Sodiaal Standardizes Global ERP Operations on SAP via Accenture Integration
The French dairy cooperative has consolidated its Canadian subsidiary onto a unified SAP platform to streamline international supply chain management.

Sodiaal, a farmer-owned dairy cooperative based in France, has completed a multi-year IT integration project to consolidate its Canadian operations onto a centralized SAP instance. The initiative follows the acquisition of Yoplait Liberté Canada from General Mills and establishes a unified digital core for the cooperative’s international business units.
The project, which concluded in June 2026, involved migrating the Canadian entity’s legacy systems to the same SAP platform currently utilized across Sodiaal’s European operations. This architectural alignment allows the organization to harmonize core business processes, including supply chain management, inventory tracking, and financial reporting, across disparate geographic regions.
Accenture served as the primary integration partner, deploying teams in Paris and Montréal to manage the complex migration. The technical scope required reconciling local market specificities in the Canadian dairy sector with the standardized requirements of the European SAP environment. This deployment marks a significant shift toward a centralized ERP architecture for Sodiaal, which currently operates in more than 40 countries.
The integration provides Sodiaal with a single source of truth for data management, reducing the operational friction associated with managing a decentralized IT stack. By adopting a unified platform, the cooperative aims to improve visibility into international production and distribution metrics. The project serves as a template for future acquisitions, demonstrating a repeatable methodology for absorbing new entities into the existing digital infrastructure.
The migration process necessitated a rigorous mapping of Canadian business logic into the existing SAP framework. Accenture teams worked to ensure that local regulatory compliance and dairy-specific production workflows were maintained within the new system. This required extensive data cleansing and synchronization to ensure that the Canadian entity’s historical records were compatible with the European instance.
The implementation also involved training local staff on the new SAP interfaces and workflows to ensure continuity of operations post-migration. By standardizing the ERP environment, Sodiaal has effectively reduced the technical debt associated with maintaining separate, siloed legacy systems. This consolidation is a critical step in managing the overhead associated with rapid international expansion.
According to Myriam Riedel Kienzi, DG Yoplait International and member of Sodiaal’s Executive Committee, the technology foundation now allows the company to operate its Canadian business as a fully integrated part of the Yoplait family. This consolidation is intended to support the cooperative’s broader international growth strategy, which currently accounts for 25% of its total activities.
Stéphanie Jandard, managing director and Consumer Goods & Services lead for Accenture France & Belux, noted that the transformation focused on enabling the acquired business to function through common processes. The collaboration leveraged Accenture’s expertise in the food and beverage industry to build a scalable technology foundation for the cooperative’s global expansion.
The shift to a unified ERP environment reduces the complexity of maintaining multiple, siloed legacy systems in different jurisdictions. For large-scale cooperatives, this centralization is a critical step in managing the overhead associated with rapid international expansion. The reliance on a single SAP instance mitigates the risks of data fragmentation and improves the efficiency of cross-border supply chain orchestration.
Enterprise architects should monitor how Sodiaal manages the ongoing maintenance of this unified platform across different regulatory environments. The success of this integration hinges on the ability to enforce standardized processes without stifling local market agility. Future performance will depend on the cooperative’s capacity to leverage this unified data layer for more sophisticated analytics and supply chain automation.
The completion of this project signals a shift toward a more rigid, centralized governance model for Sodiaal’s international assets. Leaders should observe whether this standardized approach facilitates faster onboarding of future acquisitions or introduces new bottlenecks in regional operations. The long-term impact on the cooperative’s total cost of ownership for its IT stack remains a key metric for evaluating the success of this consolidation strategy.
